Description
The first completely new bicycle geometry in 95 years. Inside a triangular frame of lightweight aluminum, this single speed bike transfers power to the rear wheel via a silent clean Kevlar belt. Handlebars are mounted horizontally so the rider can sit comfortably upright with an excellent view of the road. The genius of the triangular frame is that it can quickly fold. In five seconds, you have a light, compact form that you can easily wheel, stow in a closet, load in your car or take on the train

This review is from: Areaware STRiDA 5.0 SX Folding Bicycle, Limited, Black (Sports)

I owned the cream colored 5.0 a few months ago. At 6'1" I found the bike too small as my knees hit the handle bars and the bike felt unstable because I carry a lot of weight high (240 lbs). I sold the 5.0 and brought a Brompton folding bike which I love.

I did order the Strida SX which I recieved yesterday and the difference is amazing. With the larger high pressure wheels the bike rolls easier and is faster than the 5.0. However, expect "normal bikes" to pass you as it is not a race bike. The spring loaded seat makes this bike much more comfortable than the 5.0. Even though the frame size is the same I have much more room on the SX. There is plenty of clearance for my knees with the bent style handle bar. Strangely, on the SX I think my knees would clear the handle bars even if it had the 5.0 straight bars.

Also the matt black color looks much more attractive in person than it does on the web site. It is a very nice contrast to the chrome seat springs, spokes and discs. I would encourage anyone over 6' to go with the SX, you will feel less like a circus clown on it. I would go even further to suggest that even shorter riders might prefer the SX as it just rides better.
